SYNCOPE
A downloadable game
SYNCOPE
A wave-clear action prototype where your real heart rate controls the difficulty.
🫀 About the Game
Most games only react to what happens on the screen. SYNCOPE reacts to you. Using an Arduino-based pulse sensor, the game reads your heart rate (BPM) in real time and dynamically adjusts pace and difficulty. As your BPM rises, the game becomes faster and more intense; as you stay calm, the game becomes more controllable.
Panic = Chaos
Calm = Survival
⚡ Core Features
- Real-time biofeedback loop: Your BPM directly affects gameplay difficulty and pacing.
- Wave-clear progression: Survive enemy waves, earn rewards, and push further.
- Progression systems: XP/leveling, buffs, gold, and a market-style upgrade flow.
- Clear UI feedback: HP, XP, gold, BPM, wave info, and connection status are visible in-game.🎮 Controls
- WASD – Move
- Mouse – Aim OPTIONAL You can also fire using the character's point of view if you wish.
- Mouse Click – Attack / Shoot
- ESC – Pause
(Controls may evolve during development.)
🔌 Heart Rate / Sensor Info
The physical product we created for this project is designed with the Arduino MAX30102 heart rate sensor element. For stable BPM readings, try to keep your hand/finger as still as possible during gameplay.
